I Survived!

Our mischeivous monkey playing with the curtains in our former dining room - now playroom.

Not a real post today as I’m busy working on a tutorial for Photoshop Friday, but I just wanted to pat myself on the back a little..

You see, Jeff has been away for the last 1o days traveling for work. and just returned last night. I didn’t want to say anything on this blog because it feels wierd to announce to the world that we’re home alone – even for an over sharer like me!

So for the past 11 days I have been showering,  pumping, getting Japser ready in the morning, keeping the house together, shopping, cooking, dealing with the teething monster ALL BY MYSELF and I lived to tell about it.

The last time Jeff traveled for work I moved in with my parents because I was so scared of having to do it all alone!  I also remember that it was pre Ferber and it was taking me an hour and a half to get him down at night and he was waking at least 4 times a night.

What a difference a few months can make!

Cue Aretha Franklin here..

This is a random question….I love the blue damask rug in your dining romm…where can I buy one???

ariana says:

LOL, its from Homegoods.. we got it a while back though, but they probably have other similar things. The thing is that it was Wool (I refuse to buy synthetic rugs because of their smell) but cheap for wool, I think maybe $200? Unfortunately the cheapness reveals itself in the fact that it sheds horribly! Actually, it wasn’t a problem at all when it was actually our “dining room rug” because we were just walking on it, and infrequently at that. But now that it’s the rug Jasper plays on constantly it drives me nuts… the little whitish fibers get all over his clothes and ours! If he wears something fleecy – forget it. He looks like a lint roller after a few seconds of rolling around!

Wow! You are a hero. 10 days with a Devilish child? I was calling husband reinforcement after a few hours during the growth spurt evilness. I can’t imagine handling 10 days all alone.
Congrats! You deserve a long bath, a relaxing massage and an adult beverage…. all served by your dude :)

LOL Jbhat: Yes, I have cleaning ladies, I got by without until my third trimester. And once we got used to it.. well there was no going back! Let’s just say that tidiness is NOT one of my virtues.

Kari, you got it! Wanted to see if anyone would pick up on what I was hinting at ;)

Nydia, I have to say I’m a little scared!

Nydia says:

Phew! Just wait until Jasper starts walking … You should gather up your arsenal of support for that one …

Great blog! I came across it thru Mom Blog Network!

Wow! You are my hero! My daughter is just a few weeks younger than Jasper and it takes everything I have and my husband’s help to make it through the day:-). I laughed when I saw your picture of the play room, though. Our living room looks exactly like that right now.

jbhat says:

Oh Mah Gawd. You did that? AND you were posting? You are my hero (even though you seem to have the help of a cleaning crew).

Glad he’s back!

Steph, I deleted the duplicate.. I’m quite sure your house isn’t a disaster. I’ve seen pictures remember?? ;) And I by “keeping the house together” I meant I managed to pick up just enough that the cleaning ladies could clean. And I just barely managed that!

Stephanie says:

sorry for the double post!

Stephanie says:

Woo hoo! I’m in awe and totally envious. My husband never travels anywhere and I can’t manage to get all of that done. Our house is a total disaster!
