So much to blog about and too little time..SOOO much. I’m hoping to get there this week, but the days fly by so fast.
But before Hanukkah becomes a distant memory I did want to post this image I took of Jasper and my Dad lighting the menorah.
Technically Jasper is half or even 3/4 s Jewish as Jeff is technically half, and I’m whole but it’s more confusing than that because my parents were first HinJews and now JewBuhs and growing up we always celebrated Christmas. You’ve heard of Jews for Jesus right? Well, we were like Jews for Christmas. The point is that we celebrate everything in this house, which is kind of awesome for Jasper:
Speaking of Hanukkah & Christmas, I got a the 5D Mark III (Happy Hanukkah/Christmas to me!) and this image was taken at 8k ISO. 8000!
This camera is nothing short of amazing, not that I’ve had much time to even get to know it that well, but the low light capabilities and the lightning fast focus are sooooo dreamy. It really is the camera we’ve all been waiting for Canon to make, I’m so glad I went ahead and purchased it. It wasn’t an easy decision because as most of you know, I’ve been on maternity leave from photography for MOST of 2012, so spending this much on gear this year seemed frivolous to me. But then I looked at it from the point of view that I would eventually upgrade to it anyway, so I might as well get the most use out of it that I can it made a little more sense. That’s how I’m justifying it anyway!
Seriously though, for those of us that photography families and fast moving children the focusing system on the Mark III is going to make the difference between many shots being soft focus vs keepers – well worth the investment.
Ok- gotta go make Latkes – more soon!
