Sun Flare

Remember what I said at the end of this post about backlighting and spot metering? Here’s another (more extreme) example of what spotmetering allows you to do..
Spot meter on your subject’s face and you can even take images with the shining around your subjects (sun flare) for a nice dramatic effect:
Taken with my Canon digital rebel xsi, Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Lens at these settings:
f2.5
SS 1/200th
ISO 100
Totally unrelated to this topic, but in my 11 month letter to Jasper I mention how he loves touching the plants in my parents’ yard.. look how gentle he is with them:
How is this the same kid that regularly jabs his finger into my nose or eye while nursing??

My little Emily does the same thing with all plants…trees, leaves, flowers. So gentle, yet the poor cat gets tortured and I can’t remember the last time I wore earrings for fear they would be ripped out. I used to think she was afriad of the plants, lol!

How sweet he is with the flowers! Mia doesnt have that gentle touch. WIth her its always about shredding the plants. HAHAHA. Funny how their personalities are so evident even at this young age.
