Jasper Standing with No Hands – Caught on Video!

It’s hard to get him to perform infront of the camera (video OR film) these days, as soon as he hears the little “blubup” sound the flip makes he stops what he’s doing and either stares or comes after it.

But Saturday I finally managed to get him on video doing his little standing unassisted routine.. he looks like he’s surfing trying to balance, or like a drunken sailor as Jeff puts it:

He’s not really content to just stand anymore though, he really wants to practice walking and will only let you just BARELY hold on and he takes off running. I’m not kidding, when you grab his hands to do that walking thing he starts running.

I have a feeling we’re in for a daily barrage of boo boos starting any minute now..

And I also finally caught the tooth on camera!

Here’s our little snaggletooth:

And here’s an image of Jasper just looking cute and doing his thing:

Hope you all had a great weekend!

  1. Whoa! Thats so neat he really growing up fast!

  2. Teething, standing — almost walking: oh my! So many firsts: how wonderful.

  3. That was so darn cute. He looks so pleased with himself!

(I found out this weekend that I was an early walker–at 8 months! My poor mother!)

  4. Oh, and he clapped Sunday for the first time too! (stay tuned for that video :)

JB, 8 months????? I’ve never heard of anyone walking at 8 months. Wow!

  5. Cute!! Finally, a little tooth! :) I’ve seen a few kids walk at 8-9 months… James is likely to be closer to 12-14 months the way he’s going (fine by me!)

  6. Awww congrats mommy! He’s just precious. :)

  7. OMG, he’s so close!! I love it. Did that happen overnight or was it gradual?

  8. That is hilarious. I know what you mean about the camera beeping and then all the baby’s energy focuses on the camera, the camera lens-cap etc. Your blog helps me remember that there are other moms out there. My daughter is now 8 months old (with a cold :-() and reading your blog has been so helpful.

  9. that is AWESOME! He has got some MAD balance skillz!
what a great video and pics of course.

  10. so cute!! Zoe also takes off when you hold her hands, she doesn’t understand she has to take it slow to get her balance! She won’t stand unassisted though, as soon as you let go of her hands she tries to walk, but falls over after 2 steps!! ugh, 14 months and still not walking!!!

  11. Awwww, how awesome is that! I just love how he is smiling the whole time. He’s dong a great job so far. Landon still falls over so fast. He hasn’t learned that he has to walk flat on his feet instead of on his tippy toes. No idea how to remedy that problem. Jasper is very close to walking!

  12. Love it! My little gal does the same thing with the Flip camera noise.

  13. Oh, he’s just so incredibly cute! I wanted to wrap my son Jake in a bubble wrap suit for those first walking days. Perhaps a helmet would have been suitable as well!

  14. Yay for teefies! Kaity is cutting all 4 on top (her first) and today while changing her and checking her top teeth I felt something on the bottom! Yes, two teeth had popped through while I was waiting for the top ones! I’m so thrilled. I’m still nursing and she hasn’t bitten me yet, so that is good. I LOVE babies with teeth, they are too cute!
