The thing is that it was Wool (I refuse to buy synthetic rugs because of their smell) but cheap for wool, I think maybe $200? Unfortunately the cheapness reveals itself in the fact that it sheds horribly! Actually, it wasn't a problem at all when it was actually our "dining room rug" because we were just walking on it, and infrequently at that. But now that it's the rug Jasper plays on constantly it drives me nuts... the little whitish fibers get all over his clothes and ours! If he wears something fleecy - forget it.
