Ultrasound, 7 Weeks 4 days.

Today was such an exciting day, we heard our baby’s heartbeat, I “graduated” from my RE, and will most likely get to stop taking those disgusting progesterone suppositories!
Dr. K started off the scan by zooming in so we could see how much blobby has grown in the past week and a half:

The entire baby is [...]

I am surrounded by fertiles on all sides.

My best friend from childhood Alexis and her boyfriend Scott are coming into town and staying with through Christmas eve. She doesn’t know about blobby yet because I am waiting to tell her in person (tonight!) but for once I’m the one who’s worried about how telling someone I’m pregnant will make them feel.
Normally I’m [...]

Second Ultrasound, We Have a Heartbeat!

Due to the spotting and cramping, I went in for my second ultrasound  yesterday instead of Thursday like I had planned. Blobby is doing great and Dr. K said there was lots of development.  I couldn’t tell at all (other than the fact that the sac was bigger) until he zoomed in and we saw [...]

Spotting. Damn.

A little bit of brownish spotting last night on my pantyliner (that I’m still wearing all the time courtesy of the endometrin suppositories) and on the applicator when I used it last night and a bit again this morning. Plus the cramps came back a bit last night.
I know spotting can be “normal” and a [...]

The $3200 Baby… and why Oxford Insurance Sucks!

Due Date Confusion

In my original excitement to finally be pregnant I found the first due date calculator google proffered and it was the kind that you put in the date of your last menstrual period (LMP method). That puts me a 5 weeks and 3 days today with a due date of August 12th.  But the LMP [...]

First Ultrasound - It’s a Blob!

Yesterday was an exciting day, it was my first ultrasound since our BFP and an important one because it makes sure that the embryonic sac is in the uterus and not a tubal pregnancy or anything.
Jeff has never been to my RE. Ever. So he sort of surprised me the day before saying he wanted [...]

Fertile Friends

I used to work at the publishing company that publishes The Conception Chronicles, which I HIGHLY recommend. I used to be the internet marketing manager there and for some reason the editor asked if I would read it when the manuscript was just about done.
I LOVED the book.
Which is really weird because this was before [...]

In Defense of My Aunt

My previous post came off as angrier than I really was, I wan’t really angry, just dissapointed.
I really love my Aunt, she’s the only person in my ‘real’ life that actually regularly reads my blogs which shows you how much she cares..
Auntie if you’re reading this, I know you wouldn’t have told mom and dad [...]

The Cat is Out of the Bag.

One of the reasons I haven’t posted our good news on becoming-home is that my Aunt Diane reads it. We just weren’t ready to tell our friends and family until we see the heartbeat at around 6 weeks.
Because this time frame puts us right before christmas, we had a whole christmas surprise worked out on [...]
