1st Beta Number is in!
November 30th, 2007 by ariana
Just got the call..
Beta at 12dpIUI = 33.1
Progesterone = 16.8
Both seem pretty low to me. My lovely friends from the TTTC board on the nest said its fine and I shouldn’t be worried, but how do you not worry? Particularly when, according to Betabase.info the median HCG level at 12 days is 48??That’s a lot higher than 33..and that’s just the median! Half of the people had levels ABOVE that.
And shouldn’t my progesterone level be higher given that I’m on the progesterone suppositories?
I know I’ve read that you aren’t supposed to obsess about the level itself, just that it doubles (going in Monday for my next Beta) but its much easier said than done.
In the meantime, Jeff and I are in this weird limbo, excited beyond belief on the one hand, but frightened out of our wits on the other.
It’s going to be a very, very long weekend.

Lori,
First of all, thank you for your kind comments about my home!
Secondly, making that appointment with an RE is the best thing you could have done. Thats when things finally started to happen.. this was just our second cycle in treatment, so it may be you just need that extra push of the meds. And don’t worry because of any horror stories you hear about clomid and injectables. I had no side effects on either and the injections are really easy. Please keep me posted on how it goes for you and hopefully you’ll have some wonderful news of your own soon!
Fivejs, Thank you so much for the well-wishes and for sharing your story! You give me hope :)
I will definitely check out rubber-ducky. I currently am active on the nest.com TTTC board and the ladies there are wonderful too!
OMG!!!!!! I am so happy for you. At 12dpo my number was 31 and while I was on prog. supp. my own prog. was only 7.5! I thought that I would have another miscarriage but thankfully it all worked out. I have a beautiful little boy who is 20 months old! By the way I belong to a wonderfully supportive forum Rubber-ducky.org. That goes from infertility to pregnancy to toddlers to adoption. I love the warmth and support. I will keep you in my thoughts! Jen
Hi, Ariana ~
I found your blog earlier this week. CONGRATULATIONS on your pregnancy! How exciting it must be for you and your husband!! My husband and I have been ttc since September of ’06 (same as you). You’ve given me hope!! We are going to see a reproductive specialist after the holidays. Best of luck to you in your pregnancy!!
:) Lori
p.s. I love your home blog, too! Your house is beautiful!
